A word of thanks……………..
We
want to thank everyone who has and who continues to pray for Ben’s strength
and safe return from Iraq. As most are aware, Ben was home on a 12-day
leave recently. He returned to Baghdad last Wednesday morning. We had
every hope of coming to last week’s worship service, but we found ourselves
with a house full of family on Sunday morning (which we are very grateful
for). Ben was looking forward to expressing his gratitude to all of you
himself.
He
would have told you how much he appreciates your prayers, letters and the
boxes of goodies that are sent to him and how they make him feel like the
luckiest person alive. He has proudly worn his St. Andrew’s 125th
anniversary t-shirt on the few days he’s allowed to. He feels your prayers
when things go terribly wrong and when things go as planned. As he is in a
very dangerous area of the world, he is comforted with the knowledge that
each Sunday morning his name is read from the prayer list.
We are
grateful for the support that has been shown to our family and to Ben. This
would be so much more difficult without all of you to lean on when we need
to. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Kevin, Pati and Ben Wheeler
