REV. CHRISTOPHER WEISS: 1925-1928

The Rev. Weiss came to St. Andrews on March 15, 1925. The following year his health began to fail. He submitted his re­signation to the congregation three times and each time it was not accepted.

During his pastorate the Young Peoples League became very active, "Family Night" was inaugurated, the ladies Aid served the first sauerkraut supper, he tried for the first time collect­ing dues using envelopes, a parish hall was erected to the rear of the church and was dedicated September 4, 1927.

He was born in Steinhaus, Germany in 1865 and came to America with his parents , settling in South Bend, Indiana. Here he was married to E1sie kempe in 1889 He was ordained July 19, 1895. They had a son, Waldemar and a daughter, Wilhelme. He died while at St. Andrews in August, 1928. Mrs. Weiss died in 1935
